Silk was born Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. The daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, as well as Ilkay Silk, an acclaimed actor, director, producer, playwright, educator, as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Some of Anna's earliest memories included going to rehearsals and watching her mother work. Silk played a role as a young girl in a variety of commercials. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Arts from St. Thomas University in 1997. Early theater work has included at least two productions with Theatre St. Thomas: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk relocated to Toronto for further development of her acting profession in November 1999, and during the following decade relocated into Los Angeles, California. Seth Cooperman was her future husband when she was introduced to him during an acting workshop located in Los Angeles. They got engaged in 2009, and they were married in a civil wedding ceremony that was held in December. They renewed their vows April 10th of 2011, in Fredericton in the aftermath of their changed her religion to Judaism.
