Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw also known by her stage name Elizabeth Alice MacGraw has been a model, actor as well as an animal rights activist in the United States. The actress has won praise for films like Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) as well as The Getaway, (1972). She was raised by an artistic family from New York and wanted to pursue a career in artistic fields. She started as a photography assistant and later moved into modeling and acting. Her two first films got noticed and earned her recognition with the Golden Globe Award of Most promising newcomer. MacGraw was a household name following the success of her 1970 film Love Story. She was selected for one of the Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. Within three years MacGraw was ranked as the top female box office starter in the world. At Grauman's Chinese Theater in the year 1972, she was able to have her handprints and signature engraved. Additionally, to The Getaway Convoy Players she played a part in the tv miniseries The Winds of War. Her autobiography Moving Pictures was published in 1991. MacGraw has married thrice.
